Photo dyptich of Abu Sesay. Left: 16 year old Abu Sesay sits on a bunk bed ladder in a cell in Pademba Central Prison. He was forced out of his family home and lived on the streets. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment for stealing a woman's purse. The prison was built for 220 people and regularly houses over 1,000 inmates.
Right: Abu Sesay with his colleagues at a mechanic's workshop where he is learning motor mechanics as part of his reintegration organised by the charity Free Minor Africa. After many years living on the streets Abu now lives with a friend in a new hut in the wharf area of Freetown. [The second part of this photographic project was made possible with funds which Fernando Moleres received from the Tim Hetherington Grant in 2012]
