Recovering drug addicts stand to attention during the raising of the Cambodian flag at Orkas Khnom, or My Chance, a government-run facility where young men, brought here by their families or by by the police, are detoxed from their drug addiction. The centre's officials say that patients must overcome their addiction by strengthening their will and mind. Furthermore, that they must learn how important society is, learn to stay away from bad people and work in order to know how important life is. However, a Human Rights Watch report in January 2010 highlighted abuse of detainees held at the 11 drug detention centres. The report said that individuals are not being treated for drug use, but rather illegally detained and often abused.
