The abandoned headquarters of the Santa Cruz farm that was isolated by the permanent flooding of the Pantanal of Paiaguas. This flooding occurred due to the 'breaking in' of the river Taquari, which due to silting up abandoned its original course and spread its waters over thousands of hectares, flooding farms and communities, and making life in the region unviable.
