The crowded public gallery at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court where Presiding Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu rules on a case of 'Computer Misuse' against Makerere University Researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi. Kamasanyu noted that after carefully listening to the evidence of the three prosecution witnesses, and reading the posts that are alleged to be offensive to the person of the President and his late mother, she ruled that it was not in dispute that the statements on the charge sheet are the same as the facebook posts, and that the accused person is the alleged author, therefore its only fair and just that Dr. Stella Nyanzi be given a chance to defend herself. Nyanzi has since denied the allegation and was refused bail. Nyanza's lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde has applied for an adjournment to consult his client on the options to be used in defending herself. She has now been ordered to prepare her defence by 26 June 2019.
