The funeral cortege of a young man, killed while riding a motorbike, outside his apartment before a procession on foot to the Ukrainian Catholic church on the outskirts of Lviv. During Soviet times Ukrainian style funerals such as this were banned, but were often carried out in secret at night. During the run-up to Ukrainian independence in 1991 this was one of the first such Ukrainian funerals to be be carried out in open view.
