The Huggable Bear, a social robotic stereotype, sits on a table at Boston's Children Hospital next to it's remote control station. Huggable is being used in an experiment between Boston's Children Hospital and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The goal of the experiment is to determine whether a so called 'Huggable' teddy bear, a social robotic stereotype, can have therapeutic value for children who have to endure long hospital stays. The bear's talking and movements are remotely controlled by Hospital Staff from outside of the room.
