The Salazar Mujica family looks out the window of their house. They arrived in Ecuador in 2019 on foot from Venezuela. Luisa and Robert, the parents, have lost their jobs since the pandemic started. Their children Robert Alejandro and Johanna Rosveri, 5 and 7 years old respectively, have stayed at home for two months. Robert is in his 5th year of primary in a school in southern Quito. For this migrant family, xenophobia and the long legal process to enter school have made it very difficult to support their son's studies. Robert experienced discrimination from his teacher. After school closed it is a huge feat to get a mobile phone and enough internet recharges to allow Robert to continue studying.
