The sun rises behind a vineyard near Fresno where temperatures in the Central Valley can reach over 100ﾃげF (37ﾃげc) in the summer, especially during heat waves.
According the law, when the temperature reaches 80ﾃげF (26.6ﾃげc) there should be shade where farm workers can take breaks. They should be allowed to take a 5 minute (or as long as needed) break if they start feeling bad and this should be paid time. When the temperature reaches 95ﾃげF (35ﾃげc) they should automatically be given a 10 minute break and there should a plan of how to proceed in case of an emergency.
