Two activists at Camp Promise comfort each other after being upset by an indicdent in the camp where a man came on the site and started arguing with some of the activists. The activists accused the man of planning to steal things from a car and trying to get the camp closed by police. They put him on the ground, screaming at him, while he fought back at them. For many activists in the solidarity camp, the scenes were disturbing to watch.
The activists stay at the camp to protest the ongoing water crisis in the city: In Flint, cost-cutting measures led to tainted drinking water that contained lead and other toxins, causing a major public health crisis. It started 2014, and the city and its people are still suffering from it. All the lead pipes in town are expected to be completely replaced no sooner than 2020.
