Varsha Anant Bhayar (L) walks with a colleague to the organic farm she owns with her husband, Anant Bhayar. On the farm they have a wide range of crops, including lentils, beans, cotton and fruit. They manage the farm on their own and hire labourers whenever needed, so the number of people working on the farm can range from two to 25. They are proud defenders of organic farming, and state that it has been relatively profitable for them. They tried GM cotton for a few years but saw that it was not working out, so decided to replace it with organic cotton.
