Xieng Khouang Province, LAOS

Villagers walking on the Plain of Jars. Giant stone urns, believed to be around 2000 years old, litter the landscape at several sites on the central northern plateau of Laos. "These jars belong to us," these people say. "Our ancestors made them to store lao-lao." Lao-lao is a locally produced wine.
